We have spent several days preparing the trailer for our first real vacation trip after moving to Castle Rock Colorado. We actually took the trailer for 2 weeks back in May to go to the Oklahoma rodeo but we didn't have the time to do a daily log. A lot of stuff got piled into the trailer at the last minute this morning. We got away from the house around 11:00am and headed east. Colorado State highway 86 was rather bumpy and when we stopped for lunch we found all kinds of stuff thrown around near the back of the trailer. Books were everywhere, light fixture lenses were on the floor, the end table was on its side and the scanner that was strapped to it was on the floor. Generally a mess but at least nothing was broken. Frank spent quite some time trying to connect to the campground Internet but we weren't getting an IP address. The campground host called tech support and we had service within a few hours. We went to a small restaurant next to the campground which served very good home style American food. Google links will be working in a few days after we get settled into the trailer again and caught up on projects.

It's hot today. This morning after we pulled in the slideouts, Tom noticed something hanging down from the office slide. The plastic band which holds flexible cables which feed the slideout was broken, again. This will be the 3rd time this one has had to be replaced. As it turns out, the campground we are staying at tonight has an RV dealer and service place. They are too busy to do this repair now so we have set up an appointment for next week after the rodeo to have them replaced. Oh, forgot to mention that the one to the living room is also broken. This is the same campground we will be at near the end of September for the Ameri-Camp family of owners rally. Frank spent some time anchoring the new server to the cabinet where it sits. The screws aren't in the same location as the ones on the old server so a new system had to be figured out. Frank also finally finished up the telephone instillation which he has been working on for the last 3 weeks. We now have 4 1970's style Western Electric telephones in the trailer which hook up to our cell phones and when at home the land line. See photos

It was very hot today, near 100 and the humidity was around 60%. We are back in one of our favorite campgrounds. Inexpensive, clean, large concrete pads and friendly managers. Frank is finally getting to work on the daily log, but he will have to relearn how to assemble the Google placemark systems. It's been 10 months since he produced one of these travelogue pages and has forgotten many of the shortcut processes.
