Check the about my lighting page to understand the tests.

This camera was made in China exclusively for Radio Shack, so don't expect to find it in you neighborhood computer store.

This was a most disappointing camera. The box claims it is a 1.3 megapixel image sensor but the quality I got with any size larger than 640x480 was quite grainy and looked to me like an interpolated image, but I can't state that as a fact.

The camera is easily overloaded in bright light and was almost useless in very low light. In the normal room lighting the best image I could get was dark and muddy. I tried fiddling with the exposure controls and was able to get the image brighter in my room lighting test creating a washed out image. Nudging the contrast up a single notch turned the shadows into black areas and the image was unusable.

The mount is interesting but a bit flimsy. It mounted fine on my notebook but on my Dell flat panel monitor the front hooks of the stand came down and around the monitor bessel and rested on the screen. Should have made a bit shorter.
