Check the about my lighting page to understand the tests.

This camera was made in China exclusively for Radio Shack, so don't expect to find it in you neighborhood computer store.

For the price this is a suprisingly good camera. Far better than the other brands of the same price range. I was surprised that the cheapest of the 3 current Radio Shack (Gigaware) cameras was by far the best. I was disappointed in the other two.

I saw several people review this camera saying it worked on Vista without installing drivers. Not so. When I plugged it in to my Vista machine it asked for the drivers and would not work without them. Since I had just received my new notebook with Vista, I did not want to install the drivers it just for this test.

While the camera has a 640x480 sensor, I found the quality a bit lacking at that resolution. The 320x240 resolution produced a good image in bright light though.

For those who need an inexpensive camera, don't like to shop online and don't have a computer store nearby then this would be a good buy.
