Logitech QuickCam Notebook Deluxe
USB 2 (Redesigned),
Purchased December 11, 2006, $59.99

This is a redesigned camera with updated electronics which work with Logitech's new Right Light and with a full USB 2 interface. You can tell the difference from the original camera by looking closely at lens. The new camera has the words "Right Light 2" "Right Sound" around the front. The old camera has no writing on the lens.

Outwardly the camera is the same as the older version. The new camera appears to have a slightly wider angle lens. I find with the Right Light turned on, the color is truer than the first version. It also seems to be a bit better in bright light. I was unable to obtain quite as bright an image under the very low lighting in the computer monitor only test.

In general I would have to say Logitech has made an improvement but also a side step with this one. Better color, sharper image, better handling of tone range (contrast) better handling of bright light, but a slight down turn in the very low lighting tests.
