Purchased Dec 1, 2009 $19.99

For the price this is a suprisingly good camera. Its image is reasonably sharp, has good color and works well in bright light. The night testing shots are a bit dull and muddy though. In very low light, the image is rather dark but you can still make out the subject. From the design, it would appear this is the new replacement for the older QuickCam Chat released back in 2006 and maybe the QuickCam Connect from 2008, (both sold for $30). This one is much better.

This camera has a spring on the tongue part that I feel is a bit stronger than it should be, as a result, it tends to push up and over the front of my flat panel monitor. The camera is very light and moves very easily so is somewhat difficult to keep pointed where I want it while sitting on a desktop. This problem is somewhat corrected if you let the cable hang down behind the camera rather than trying to coil it up as I did at first.

The manual focus ring is fairly easy to turn but you have to hold the camera body with your other hand in order to turn it.

For the moment, this camera takes over as best camera under $20. A great camera for the budget minded or for a stocking stuffer.
