Purchased Dec 1, 2009 $39.99

Nice little camera with a good price. Does a decent job, but not anywhere near the quality of the higher end Logitech cameras but then that's what having a span of quality cameras is all about.

I think I can say that the wide range of cameras Logitech has released this year are well placed within each price group. Buy the one that fits your budget and works for your purpose.

This camera is fine for Instant Messaging or Vonage use. It accepts a wide range of lighting conditions well and had decent color. I was surprised at how well it responded in the very low light tests, but I did have to override the automatic settings and push the manual exposure, brightness and contrast controls during low light tests.

I have experienced just a bit of problems with some colored lines in dark areas of an image but that seems to dissipate when the lighting level comes up. With the camera set in full auto mode, it seems to shift a bit to the red on daylight tests, but has proper color in my incandescent testing.

The stand works well and sits both on all monitors and on a desktop. Like the other Logitech home cameras below the high end 9000, it has a swivel ball mount so the camera can be rotated 360 degrees and tilts forward and back.
